INTOA design is a company focused on recycled products founded by craftsman and designer Helena Hannula in Tampere in 2010.

I design and handcraft individual accessories and home textiles, using as much recycled materials as possible. The goal is to make ecological, beautiful and durable products from already used materials. The products are timeless and thus last well over time. I make most of the products for customers to order, this way we avoid unnecessary stocks.

The main materials are recycled jeans and rag rugs, on the basis of which the collection is created. The design is material-oriented and open-minded; I want to combine different materials with each other and find a new form for an already used material for a new purpose. I make the products in small series or as unique individual pieces. The collections live with time and the products are modified according to the customer's wishes. For example, I make denim slippers according to color and material wishes.

I get the materials, e.g. from nearby flea markets and businesses. I also accept donations. However, since not all the materials I need are available second-hand, I try to use surplus materials and end stocks from different manufacturers. In the design phase of the products, I pay attention to the most efficient use of textile material, minimizing waste material. I avoid unnecessary packaging and the necessary packaging materials are recycled or recyclable. By doing this, I want to support sustainable development.

INTOA design also manufactures business gifts and business products for companies based on its own collection, from small quantities to hundreds of pieces. The products are manufactured either entirely according to our own designs or customized according to the company's wishes.
